Jess’ style of counselling is relational, trauma-informed, integrative and holistic, with a primary focus on attachment needs, emotions and the stories we tell about ourselves. Professional Experience

Jess completed a Masters of Counselling in 2015 at Morling College while working as a pastoral ministry trainee at a local church. Over her time at Bridges, she has moved from a focus in couples therapy to a specialised interest in complex trauma and grief and loss.

Jess has held various roles professionally, including trauma support for people affected by the Disability Royal Commission and counselling for carers of people who have long-term medical conditions, live with mental illness, disability, or who are frail due to age. Jess has been sought by organisations to run educational and interactive workshops on areas such as grief and mental health.

Jess’ love of learning has seen her undertake further training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Trauma, and Grief Counselling, and she is currently working towards becoming an accredited clinical supervisor.

Faith-Based Experience

Jess initially pursued counselling in the context of her involvement in pastoral ministry at her local church. She felt privileged to bear witness to another’s story and felt a ‘heart-pull’ towards those who were seeking restoration and spiritual formation, particularly in areas of social injustice towards vulnerable women.

Jess also devoted 2 years to being trained as a ministry worker for women and young adults. Being part of multicultural missions and churches locally and in SE Asia has given her many opportunities to walk alongside many people from different faiths, cultures, and nations. Jess has been sought by churches to run educational and interactive workshops. She continues to be passionate about integrating faith in her therapy for those who seek it.
