Professional Experience
My professional experience lies in working with adolescents, young adults and adults living with a variety of complex Mental Health Conditions together with their Parents/Partners and Carers to improve their resilience, functioning and quality of life. Working with Parents, Partners, Families and Carers has been towards reducing unhelpful conflict and improving co-operation and consensus to maintain a practical Recovery Plan which evolves over time.
Sensitivity to Grief and Loss, historical and current Trauma is translated through warmth and care in order to face difficult life experiences together to understand and manage the extreme emotional, mental and physical consequences of those events as well as work towards more helpful ways of living and growing in maturity.
Relationship Counselling focuses upon the relationship story of the Individual, Couple or Family over time to provide a perspective on outlining the next stage of challenging growth ahead and co-developing the skills required to share that transition together.
I am Medicare accredited with clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan obtained from their GP or referral from their Treating Psychiatrist. Specialising in the multidisciplinary Treatment of Eating Disorders, I may be included on a GP Eating Disorder Plan or an EDTP from a Psychiatrist.
