Her involvement in church has strengthened her ability to support individuals dealing with faith-related concerns, understanding how personal beliefs and values influence emotional well-being.
Her background in teaching and her role within the employment services sector helped her develop strong communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills. She has worked closely with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who were seeking employment, assisting them through career transitions and personal challenges, further enhancing her ability to support individuals navigating change.
Having moved to Australia in 2016, Abbie understands firsthand the complexities of cultural adjustment, grief, and navigating changes in family roles and expectations that come with major life transitions. Fluent in English, Assyrian, and Arabic, she values cultural sensitivity in counselling and is passionate about creating an inclusive space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel truly understood.
With a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Abbie has always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and perspectives. This passion translates into her counselling practice, where she provides a warm, empathetic space for clients to explore their emotions, overcome obstacles, and move toward personal growth and healing.
