What I do

My speciality is individual counselling, women and teenagers. For 7 years I have been counselling individuals and families, both short and long term.

About Me

I have recently started my own private practice after having worked in a residential program for the past six years. During this time, I have further educated myself about the range of issues affecting young people today through experience in this residential program. These issues have included bullying, relationships, communication skills, emotional regulation, grief and self esteem and body image issues that may later result in eating disorders, self harm and depression. 

In practice, I have worked closely with colleagues in team settings and also liaised with outside professionals such as local doctors, dieticians, psychologists, and psychiatrists.  I have maintained appropriate contact with parents and have held many family counselling consultations to discuss a number of issues relevant to my clients.

In my role both as a Counsellor and Residential Program Manager, I have accepted a number of invitations to organise, lead and speak at a variety of community events for young people.  This has ranged from workshops on specific topics such as ‘Positive Self Esteem and Body Image’ and ‘Healthy Communication and Relationships’, to weekend retreats.

I like to encourage others to find their potential in life and I enjoy walking the journey with people as they overcome the pain from their past.

Qualifications and Registration

I am a Qualified Member of the Australian Counselling Association.  My qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy.  I am currently a candidate of the Masters in Counselling at the Wesley Institute, Sydney.

My Fees

Consultations are for one hour and fees are paid at the time of your appointment. I charge $80.00 per session.  Fees are reviewed January each year and any changes will be discussed with you.

Attending your scheduled appointment is your responsibility.  If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please notify and discuss this as far in advance as possible.  You will only be charged your agreed fee for cancellations that occur within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment.  Under special circumstances concessions may be granted.
