Profession Experience

I have more than 16 years experience in counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families with adolescents and adult children, as well as more than 5 years experience supervising other professional and pastoral counsellors. I have provided training in an Advanced Diploma of Counselling course in Sydney.

How I approach counselling and psychotherapy

There are three areas I work with clients:

  • Helping clients to understand themselves better
  • Working together with clients as a team to search the core of their issues
  • Helping clients with a new approach to their issues

I am culturally sensitive to the needs of each client, working in a safe and supportive environment. Clients will receive professional and competent service and be treated with respect. Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained at all times.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Counselling (Honours) - Topic: Issues in cross-cultural upbringing of adolescents
  • 2 years of Clinical Counselling Course (Life Care), specialising in couple and domestic violence work
  • Master of Arts in Theology
  • Certificate in Clinical Supervision (UK)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training

Professional Memberships

  • PACFA Registered at Clinical level
  • Clinical Member (Master Clinician) - Australian Association of Relationship Counsellors
  • Registered Supervisor - CCAA (Christian Counsellors Association of Australia)

Professional Standards

I receive on-going professional training each year and am supported by supervision on a regular basis to maintain my ethical and professional standards.

Fees

Sliding scale $100-140/hour, based on gross family income, with a minimum of $130 for after hours appointments.
