I have been working as a professional counsellor for over 2 years and my specialties are Individual and Relationship Counselling. I can also offer longer term Individual Therapy or Psychotherapy.

I offer my services on a sliding scale of fees according to household income.

About Me
I qualified as a counsellor in 2006 and currently work with both individuals and couples. My approach to counselling and therapy is from an Emotionally Focused perspective, an approach which focuses on the emotional roots of an issue rather than just the symptoms and can be applied to most issues a client brings. In working with the Emotionally Focuses approach, I use a range of techniques to safely and respectfully help clients achieve their goals.

I have also spent time as a telephone counsellor with the Salvation Army’s Careline and Crisisline, dealing with issues as diverse as suicide, relationship issues, mental health problems, loneliness and anxiety.

Confidentiality

Counselling is confidential, in line with standard professional practice. If you need further details, please discuss this with me. It is necessary to collect a minimum of personal information on clients which is kept on file in locked storage.

Fees

At Bridges Counselling, we don't wish finances to be a barrier to counselling. To that end, I offer my services on a sliding scale of fees according to household income.

My fee scale is as follows:

There is an after hours surcharge of $20, i.e. before 9am or after 5pm.

The above fees are a guide but if you are having difficulty paying please discuss it with me.

Whenever possible please give at least 48 hours notice of cancellation of appointments. This means I can offer the appointment to someone who is waiting. I trust you will understand that where insufficient notice is given I will need to charge a cancellation fee, generally half of the normal fee.

These fees are unable to be claimed from Medicare. While most Health Insurance Funds do not recognise counselling as a claimable expense, please check with your Health Fund to determine your eligibility to make a claim.
