Profession Experience
I have been working as a counsellor since 1991, working widely with individuals, especially with grief and loss. In recent years I have trained and specialised in couples and relationship counselling.
Areas of Specialisation
I provide short term counselling and longer term psychotherapy, across a broad range of issues, including:
- Couple counselling
- Relationship counselling
- Grief and loss
- Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse
- Transitions – adolescent/adult, retirement, “empty nesters”, migration /re-settlement issues.
- Anxiety/Depression
- Missionary debriefing/assessment
- Twinless twins (whether by death as an infant, child or adult, or pre-natally) (I am a “twinless twin”)
How I approach counselling and psychotherapy
Clients will receive professional and competent service and be treated with respect. Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Counselling
- Vocational Graduate Diploma of Relationship Counselling
- Cert IV in Assessment and Training
Professional Memberships
- Clinical Member - APC (Association of Personal Counsellors)
- PACFA - Registered at Clinical level
Professional Training and Supervision
Over the years, I have undertaken extensive training in Gestalt, Solution Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I receive on-going professional training each year and am supported by supervision on a regular basis to maintain my ethical and professional standards.
Fees
$100/hour, and $120/hour for after hours appointments. |
